Shed Sauna [completed in December 2015 and still functioning]

Made in collaboration with friends Alana Apfel and Leon Boydon. Thanks also to Bristol Wood Recycling Project. This sauna exists within a residencial area of Bristol City Centre. The sauna is made entirely of scrap material: the stove is a converted gas-bottle, the chimney an iron water pipe, the shell an old shed, the cladding inside an old skittles alley, the igneous rocks came from the train tracks via Alice Vandeleur-Boorer. I took inspiration from the Estonian based Error Collective who build saunas out of 're-purposed material' wherever they go. I found them incredibly commonplace in Lithuania, whilst being regarded a luxury in the U.K.
