Slingshot
Audio and video installation for the exhibition ‘Vooks are stupid!’ curated by Johanna Lettmayer for her curatorial project IN THE LIBRARY #7, Bergen, Norway (2017)

The text-animation is transcribed from YouTube videos of the SlingShot ride, displaying in real-time the conversations between pairs of people being catapulted into the air 165km per hour in one minute (often causing one or both of them to pass out). When no words are spoken, a blank screen appears while the audio plays, which is taken from the same videos. The audio is played through transducer speakers attached to the computer desks, causing the library’s furniture to rattle.

This exhibition included other works by eleven artists from TEXSTgroup.
